How You Can Help

Everyone has a role to play in helping to find cures for the diseases and conditions that affect so many of us. Your participation is important, if we are going to make open source health research work. Please read through the entire list below and see where you fit in and where you can make a difference.
1. If you have a condition
Start feeling better today. Enter your condition in the box on the CureTogether home page to find it or add it. See what people are saying and what worked for them. Invite your friends, family, or support group members to join too! The more symptoms, treatments, and reviews you add, the more you will be helping to work towards a cure.

You can also share your anonymous story at The Collective Well, the CureTogether blog, to help and share with others going through the same thing you are. Send your story to Alexandra.

2. If you are a blogger or have a website
Write a blog post about CureTogether and let us know so we can link back to you. List yourself as a resource on our condition pages if your blog or website is about a particular condition.

Put a CureTogether badge on your blog! Just copy and paste this code:

<a href=”http://www.curetogether.com”>
<img src=”http://www.curetogether.com/images/curetogether.gif” style=”border:1px solid #777; padding: 6px 8px; background-color: white;”></a>

to get a badge that looks like this:

Post our video on your blog. Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwHK_7uk-Ow to see the video and copy the html code on that page to embed it on your blog.

3. If you are on Facebook
- Share a link to CureTogether.com
- Write a note on your profile to let your friends know about us
- Join our Facebook group

Facebook is one of the best ways you can help spread the word. Every mention counts for getting more patients coming together to discover new things!

4. If you speak another language
Translate parts of CureTogether’s website to be accessible to other people who speak your language. We have a particular need for Italian translation at the moment. Let us know if you can help with translation. Grazie!
5. If you are a doctor
Visit the page for the condition you specialize in to see if you are listed as a resource. If not, list yourself and post a review telling people about yourself. Write to us to request CureTogether cards to pass out to your patients.
6. If you are a researcher or enjoy finding patterns in data
Let us know you’re interested, and stay tuned. We will soon be opening up aggregate data for the community of passionate pattern-seekers to analyze. You could be the one to make a discovery.
7. If you are a journalist
Write an article about CureTogether, open source health research, patients and researchers coming together to find cures, or your own take on it. We are always open and available to talk about our ideas so feel free to contact us.
8. Whoever you are
Spread the word! Join the Facebook group, tell your friends and family about CureTogether, follow us on Twitter. Think of creative ways to get the word out and let us know your ideas. We will offer prizes for the most exciting community-building ideas, so put your thinking cap on!
