There is recent evidence about women having low levels of free testosterone from being on birth control that do not rebound after going off birth control. This may be related to vulvodynia so getting your blood checked for your levels of testosterone/estrogen may help!

For many years I took oral contraceptive hormones and/or oral progesterone, estrogen patches, etc. to treat problem periods. During that time the periods got even worse and so did my vulvodynia. Finally, a year ago, I stopped and my pain has eased noticeably.
