Botox is my present miracle. After 17 years of trying every drug--Lamictal, Neurontin, Depakote, Verapamil, beta blockers, Nortryptillyne, Topamax, etc. and gaining over 40 lbs. I fought with my insurance company and got 30 botox shots in the left side of my hairline, around my left eye and across my forehead. My migraine always start under my left eye and if escape travels up to the midpoint of my left side of skull. I have had two sets now of Botox and migraines are decreased by 40 to 45 percent, migraines I do have are actually controlled--I can stop them with Maxalt, and the lurking migraine are gone. There are real beginnings and endings to migraine now, with my head completely clear in between. I love Botox and hope it continues to work.

Botox treament about 18 months ago reduce frequency of headaches by about 60-75%. Time for another round in both temples and back of head, but no insurance and Social Security only income are delaying that indefinitely.

I love this!!! I have tried a million other things (I'm also on Topomax for prevention and take Imitrex as abortive meds) but this has by far been the most help for me after three yeas of increasingly chronic migraines...I'm disappointed to read that it might decrease it's effectiveness, because I would love to decrease the topomax if possible... I have botox in my forehead, scalp, neck, and a little in my traps...

This has changed my life,I have been going for a year now. I still get a migraine now and then but not nearly as often as I did. I have been told you can become resistant. Too bad, I don't look forward to life as it was. Headaches that would last for days at a time.

I tried botox in several forehead points and the first time I went 4 months without a migraine. I have had the treatment a few more times but now seem to be getting migraines as often as I used to. Forehead botox has really helped with these nagging mild headaches that I used to get almost every day.

After doing Botox and having NO pain relief at all, it was very obvious that the migraine triggering and pain was not coming from "tense" muscles or that kind of stress. Botox only left me in worse condition because it made it very difficult and scary to swallow at times, and weakened my neck uncomfortably. I would not recommend this treatment unless you can really verify that your migraines are triggered by stress/tension beforehand. Whereas mine are more likely attributed to something chemical/hormonal going on in the body.
